Seven Months

Last Thursday, Jonah turned 7 months old!  It's so cliche to say, but I just can't believe we've already gotten this far.  Just a few things about our little guy at this age:

Height: At 6 months, he was 28 inches, which was 85th percentile (haven't been to the doctor since then to measure... not that their technique is scientific or accurate at all.  Really???  Just a pencil mark at the foot and the head while he's squirming around all over the place?).

Weight: 20 pounds, 75th percentile (again, this was taken at 6 months)

Sleeping: Jonah is sleeping 12-13 hours straight through the night.  Yes, sometimes it really is thirteen hours!  For those of you who are new moms, I promise one day it will happen to you too.  And yes, it is heaven on earth.  He also takes a two-hour nap in the morning and a two-hour nap in the afternoon (usually about 10:30-12:30 and then 2:30-4:30).  He is no longer swaddled (WOO HOO!!!  Only took us 6 months to break out of that thing!) and he rolls around all over the crib. Actually, he still only rolls to the right.  I have no idea why... it always makes him end up in the same corner of the crib!

Eating: Jonah nurses every 4 hours during the day, which ends up being five times a day.  He eats solids at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Breakfast is usually baby cereal mixed with some kind of fruit (baby food), and he eats about 4-6 oz. of baby food for lunch and dinner.  I am making all of his baby food now.  So far, he has had sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, green beans, squash, apples, bananas, avacado, peaches, mangoes, and strawberries. (I found out the day after I gave him strawberries that he shouldn't have them until he's a year old... oops!  But he's not allergic and loves them!)

-His exersaucer and jumperoo.  He's really getting the hang of the whole bouncing thing!
-Facial hair.  He LOVES Jay's beard, especially when Jay kisses all over his face and neck.  He just squeals and laughs so hard!  He always reaches out to touch beards on any men at church, too.
-Going on walks.  This is the solution for any fussiness.
-Baths.  Another fussy solution.
-Sitting up by himself.  But he still has no desire to crawl...
-Sweet potatoes, bananas, mangoes, and strawberries
-McKinley (our little dog)
-When he hears Daddy's voice
-Music.  He could sit and listen to Jay's worship team practice for hours.  He will ALWAYS stop fussing if I sing (because I am a rock star- ha ha)
-Sitting on the porch swing with Mom
-Watching people
-Watching cars

-The hours of the day between 6:30-8:00 p.m.
-Green beans and peas (makes over-dramatic gagging noises the entire time we feed him)
-Being tired.  This boy is devoted to his naps!
-Waiting in his high chair while we get his food ready

For the most part, Jonah is the happiest, most chilled-out baby I could have ever hoped for.  So much so that I am already terrified about the next one (whenever that might be)!  There's no way the pregnancy and early baby months could be this easy again!
